NRA Basic Pistol Course (LTC-002)
The NRA Basic Pistol Course (LTC-002) is an introductory firearms course designed to provide students with a strong foundation in pistol safety, handling, and marksmanship. It is well-suited for new shooters, those with limited experience, or individuals seeking a refresher in a structured learning environment. The course emphasizes safe, responsible firearm ownership and confidence in pistol operation.
I conduct one Basic Firearms Safety certification class each month for individuals seeking the Massachusetts firearms safety certificate, which is required to apply for a License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification (FID). This course includes classroom instruction, ensuring students receive both the legal knowledge and hands-on experience necessary for safe and responsible firearm ownership.
Classroom instruction covers the fundamental rules of firearm safety, pistol parts and operation, ammunition basics, safe storage practices, and applicable Massachusetts firearm laws. Students also receive hands-on instruction focusing on proper grip, stance, sight alignment, trigger control, and safe loading and unloading procedures under instructor supervision.
In addition to certification classes, I offer private and small-group instruction for individuals who already possess a Massachusetts LTC but want to develop or improve their shooting skills. Private training focuses on safe firearm handling, marksmanship fundamentals, defensive shooting concepts, confidence building, and individualized coaching tailored to each student's experience level.
All students will receive a Massachusetts verification certificate for either LTC or FID upon successful completion of this course.
